Crash During Install

Recommended Posts

When I installed the SourceBoost IDE I got the error:

Cannot find import; DLL may be missing, corrupt or wrong version

File "MSVCP60.DLL", error 126

I downloaded the Windows .exe. I'm running Windows 2000.

MSVCP60.DLL is part of Windows (from MFC Microsoft Foundation Classes). If this one is missing some others from MFC may be missing too. We didn't know that some computers may not have it installed. I'm not sure if Microsoft allows to distribute this file by third parties.

I downloaded the file and it now works.

This is pretty sloppy, though. If you install a MFC application the installer should also install the MFC redistributables, or you can link statically.

The Microsoft Runtimes are kinda outdated and are not distributed with XP, they are usually installed at some point by another program using VS6 as the dev studio. I think it is standard for the library to be included in the install, perhaps somone can correct me tho...
