Integration into MPLAB v6

Recommended Posts

Hi,

even if I like the Pic-Ant IDE very much I sometimes miss to start the compiler directly from MPLAB.

With  MPLAB v6.22 it is now possible to integrate a ' Third Party Tool ' via .MTC files into MPLAB.

hmm, I was looking into this. I e-mail microchip and they told me I might need a plugin or something. are you able to use your C2C as is? are you able to debug your C-code using mplab simulator the same way you would when smulating the asembler? ???

I finally got the answer but its not good news. There is not support for mplab 6.x at the moment, and even if there were, the C level debugger will not work because c2c does not generate this kind of information for the mpalab to work with. What a shame!!! maybe in the near future.

;)

It is too bad that the C2C compiler doesn't generate the debugging information for C-level source debugging. I use the ICD2 extensively for source level debugging of complicated applications. This means that I have to stick with my cr$&%y CCS compiler. Any plans to make C2C C compiler so that it can be integrated into MPLab?
