A Change In Source Code Still Results In Same Hex Code

Recommended Posts

When changing the source code in BoostC the hex file still has the same data as the original source code generated. The project was built and re-built. What am I missing? Thanks

Given the amount of available information I would say that the changes you made to the code didn't change the working of the program and so were optimized out.

The first optimization a linker makes is to get ride of unused code.

So if you simply added an unused function it was thrown out.

Just my 2 cents....

Best regards
