An accurate timing tool

Recommended Posts

Guest Dave

I think the stopwatch plugin is sometimes forgotten, so a few points about it.

The  stopwatch plugin makes it easy to measure the time intervals when running code  under the simulator.

Time can be measure manually by:

1) Set the start and stop signal sources to None.

2) Stop code execution at the required start point.

3) Set a breakpoint at the stop point.

4) Click the stopwatch start button.

5) Click the run button to execute code to the breakpoint.

6) Click the stopwatch stop button.

The measured time is displayed in clock cycles and in ms.

For the ms to be correct ensure the Clock rate is set on Setting->ClockRate menu.
