Simulation Timing

Recommended Posts

Hi everybody, I would like to know why when debugging, the simulation timing using plugins is much slower than the real timing when the chip is programmed.

Can anybody suggest me something?

Regards, marco

Because is chip every clock tick one opcode gets executed and in simulator every opcode execution requires thousands of real processor instructions. In addition there are other processes and threads running that also require processor power. Saying that you still can get real time performance if you get a fast cpu and don't use too high (like 20MHz) simulation frequency.
