Can't Compile A Project On The Network

Recommended Posts

I just upgraded to Sourceboost IDE 6.31 and noticed that I lost a nice feature I liked in the previous version.

I tend to leave all of my projects on a fixed computer and access the projects and files using the IP number of that computer from my laptop, e.g. \\\dev\PIC\projects\test\test.__c

In version 6.31 the compiler will generate an error with projects like this. Trying it on a trivial test project, it generates the following :

BoostC Optimizing C Compiler Version 6.31 (for PIC16 architecture)

test.pp(1): error:  failure

Exit code was 1.

Removing target: test.obj

Failed to locate output file 'test.obj'

The workaround I found is to map it as a network drive. The project then looks like F:\PIC\projects\test\test.__c. That seems to be working OK.

So, it's currently not high on my wishlist of things that could be fixed, but it is strange that it doesn't work anymore and it's some work to setup all of those network drives.

Anyway, keep up the good work with the best PIC development environment in the galaxy ...
